On November 12th a group of residents joined members of the Parish Council at the Cenotaph for the Remembrance Ceremony to honour the men of Mere who gave their lives in the two World Wars. After the observance of two minutes silence and the reading of the remembrance prayer our Chairman John Patterson laid a wreath on behalf of all parishioners.

It is worth noting that for the first time we were actually able to hear the prayer.

It was pleasing to see a cardboard wreath decorated with pictures drawn by the children from Mere Nursery had been placed on the Cenotaph.

Young and old alike honouring the dead.
